Broke ground today.

We were so excited to see our home excavated and was so disappointed when we got there.  We saw the house next door excavated and a big pile a dirt on our lot.  Well, it turned out we were always on the wrong lot the whole time.  The signs were in the wrong place!  Anyway, we drove back and got quickly acqainted with our new lot.  We were in shock for a little but slowly got used to it.

  1. Good luck, I hope you have a way better experience than we have had so far. Once they pour your footers and the basement the framing will fly up and it will go super fast. I love that you got pictures of your kids playing on your lot before they build, you will enjoy those for many years, in fact you should frame them and put them in their rooms.

  2. Thanks, yeah nothing but a big hole in the ground. Our experience has been OK so far. Good idea on the pictures!

  3. I would love to hear how your experience went. We're also buying a Ryan, Pisa Torre, in Md but there's only two of us and we added a basement. However, the sales rep didn't tell us about the closet/bathroom shrinking if you add the sitting room, so we ditched that option, which was a huge disappointment. Lots of stuff they didn't tell us until the pre construction meeting. I think it'll be a great house and fine for us, but I wonder whether you've found your home lived up to your expectations.
